The Migrant Carpentry Workshop in Agua Prieta, Mexico uses recycled pallets to build beautiful furniture, while teaching migrants new job skills.
Men and women migrants risk their lives crossing the deadly Sonoran desert to come to the US. They often do this in a search for dignified work to support their families back home in Mexico and elsewhere. We are doing our small part to change this scenario through this carpentry project, teaching migrants a skill that hopefully can assist them in finding more gainful employment in their home towns, therefore, taking away the need to migrate.
Please support us in changing people’s lives by purchasing our recycled furniture.
You can purchase our furniture on Saturdays at the Bisbee Farmers Market and on the first Thursday of each month at the Sierra Vista Farmers Market. Or call Rich Wekerle at 208-301-4547 for a custom showing.
